1. Create a Budget

As with everything in life, a budget is a good place to set your priorities and goals, and it can be a great way to keep track of all the money you spend that month.

The idea behind a budget is that you have to set rules about how much you'll spend per month -- which amount you'll keep, if you will, and when you'll start spending that amount.

As an organization manager who helps companies track and budget for their employees, I've found that this tool is invaluable. I use a "check-in" program on a weekly basis, and I use this as an opportunity to get my employees to tell me what they're spending as and when.

If your organization doesn't have a check-in program like ours, there are many online and in-person programs that you can use for your employees.

You can buy used items at second-hand stores, or at thrift stores, flea markets, or online stores like Amazon. If you can't find products that fit your specific need, you could also try shopping around for smaller items.

3. Shop at The Salvation Army

There are lots of places from which you can take donations, including shelters, food banks, and churches.

It's also a great way to help out your community. If there is a shelter nearby in your area, you can help out -- either by picking up food and supplies, donating your used items to the shelter, or donating money.

You can shop around for used items in your area. For example, it's easier to shop in Seattle than New York, but if you do, you'll get in better deals on clothes there.

5. Look for bargains online

I've found that the best way to find a good deal is by finding bargains on products you can already own and have used. This way, you don't have to start saving up to buy things, and you can pick up bargains wherever
